perverted - adjective
Deviating from what
is considered right and correct.
Of, relating to, or practicing sexual perversion.
Marked by misinterpretation or distortion.*
Eight Hallmarks of
the perverted:
- Cheapen chastity. Curse chastity. Reject chastity. Revile chastity.
- Worship sexuality. Warp sexuality. Subjugate sexuality. Sensualize sexuality.
- Disdain pregnancy. Dehumanize pregnancy. Prevent pregnancy. Purge Pregnancy.
- Cajole children. Corrupt children. Manipulate children. Mutilate Children.
- Deny truth. Disenfranchise truth. Attack truth. Alter truth.
- Prefer evil. Promote evil. Love evil. Live evil.
- Approve violence. Attract violence. Permit violence. Practice violence.
- Reject God. Reinvent God. Mock God. Malign God.
The perverted are
not modern, they are not post-modern, they are not liberated, they are not new, and they are not novel. Their way is well
documented in history. Here is but a
sample:
"The fear of
the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the
perverted mouth, I hate" (Proverbs 8:13 NASV).
"He who has a
crooked mind finds no good, And he who is perverted in his language falls into
evil" (Proverbs 17:20 NASV).
"For you will
no longer remember the oracle of the LORD, because every man's own word will
become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD
of hosts, our God" (Jeremiah 23:36 NASV).
"Therefore the
law is ignored And justice is never upheld. For the wicked surround the
righteous; Therefore justice comes out perverted" (Habakkuk 1:4 NASV).
For detail that is
more graphic, see Romans 1:18-31.
Not only are the
perverted not new or novel, but they are also here to stay (for a while).
"But realize
this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers
of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents,
ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without
self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers
of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
holding to a form of godliness , although they have denied its power;
Avoid such men as these" (II Timothy 3:1-5 NASV).
The perverted will
persist to the very last days, but they will not persist beyond. The truth, which the perverted hate and reject,
is triumphantly detailed in Revelation chapter 21.
The hallmarks of
the perverted have not, nor will they change.
However, there is another hallmark, and that is the great hallmark of
the Truth!
"Now when they
heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of
the apostles, 'Brethren, what shall we do?' Peter said to them, 'Repent, and
each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your
sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children
and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to
Himself'" (Acts 2:37-39 NASV).
The great hallmark of the truth is that even the most perverted are not beyond the reach of truth, provided they turn to it. Nothing has changed since Pentecost. Nothing will change until the last day of the last days.
